Heidi who came into my awareness about half a year ago through an email that dropped into my inbox:

Brave German Woman Speaks Out

There was a link to a short video.

I watched and learned a bit of the story. An imam had been invited to do a call to prayer in an important German church. Not just any old church, but one dedicated to Martin Luther, who is credited with starting the Protestant Reformation.

According to Islam, doing the Muslim call to prayer in a church de-consecrates the church and converts it into a mosque.

That was not the intent of the Christians who gave the invitation to the imam. It was one of those nice interfaith things - where the Christians had not bothered informing themselves about Islamic theology.

Anyway, Heidi did know about the content of Islam. She did know what it meant, according to Islam. And she was torn. What should she do?

I know I wanted to speak to this woman who could not help herself, who was impelled to call out forcefully that only Jesus Christ is Lord, and to unfurl a German flag with Jesus Christ is Lord emblazoned on it.

What was her story? She was brought up atheist. Quite a journey from that to becoming a Christian, and another journey to her speaking out and stepping onto the world stage.
