Political correctness and Islam - these 2 factors combine to give Islam a much easier task, in terms of making demands on the West for compliance with Islamic beliefs as they are spelled out in sharia and other Islamic religious texts, such as the Qu'ran.

Political correctness - instead of crying wolf, crying victim is extremely useful.

Also there is the impact of postmodernism - unbelievable to those who uphold universal ethical standards, no matter how difficult these may be to figure out exactly, given human limitations.

Here are a range of controversial issues, a mass of controversial knowledge are addressed. These are just an introduction - so much more is available. But there is more than enough to show that the controversial issues are addressed with critical thinking rather than without it, and instead with the pronouncement of all opinions as equal, and all cultural diversity as fine.

Political correctness - an impulse may have been to be fair. The outcome is utterly outrageously unfair, over and over - unfair to those who was the facts, true facts rather than the papering over of facts with politically correct dogma.

A huge question: what is the inner damage, as well as the external pressure, that is allowing the encroachments into Western freedoms?

When I look at political correctness - as when I look at Islamic beliefs - I always come to that question.

This is vital controversial knowledge. These are vital controversial speech topics, - including controversial education issues like the taboo on teaching critical thinking in education, the fear of actually looking into cultural diversity issues, and the way the West weakens itself by not facing facts, by using much of its power to shield itself against facts instead of using that same power to deal with potential dangers to Western civilization, instead of living in an age of secrecy.

Rome: huge and powerful - it weakened from within. Important that we perhaps melt away the barriers in the West to good thinking and facing information.

Criticism of Islam has come to be seen as being automatically anti Islam, which is seen as automatically somehow bigoted. Yet criticism of Christianity has not been seen in the same way at all.

What is going on here with Western civilization?
